This bowl is made from a curly cherry tree that fell during the micro-burst a couple years ago in Northeast, OH. It is really rare for us to score cherry, let alone, curly cherry. In fact, this is the first time Andy has turned cherry in nine years.
I qualify this as an extra large salad bowl. Andy turns the bowl while the wood is still wet. When the wood dries the wood takes on it's own shape. That's why it is not symmetrical. The wood did crack a bit on the bottom of the bowl. It has been filled with wood putty.
